Cobb County P.A.R.K.S. and MTB Atlanta (SORBA Atlanta) invite you to the 9th Annual Voodoo/ALL-a-Toona Mountain Bike Race at Allatoona Creek Park! This challenging, single-lap race uses nearly every trail, with a “half” version available for those not quite ready to tackle the whole thing. As always, this is an all-volunteer effort with 100% of the proceeds being used to build and maintain the park’s trails.
Organizers are still working to finalize the 2024 race routes. Watch for an announcement as we get closer to the race date. If everything goes as planned, we will have more trail ready to race on. Trails may be added, removed, or modified up until the last minute based on conditions, so the exact race lengths are not known until we get a finisher, but we anticipate them being roughly 39 and 20 miles long. The trails are generally fast and relatively flat, but Red Barron, Voodoo, Hocus Pocus and Fern Gully offer more challenging sections. Participants are strongly encouraged to pre-ride the trails and to race within their limits – dismounting when necessary. The park’s most accurate trail maps and information can be found on the Trailforks Allatoona Creek Park Web Site.
The race will be run rain or shine, unless conditions are deemed unsafe by the Land Manager. Normally the park’s trails are closed when wet. Please confirm trail open/close status at mtbatlanta.org before heading over to pre-ride.
To accommodate more participants while maintaining racer safety, the ALL-a-Toona and HALF-Toona races will now have separate start times. The ALL-a-Toona will begin promptly at 8:00 am, with the HALF-Toona starting a few minutes later.
NEW ON-SITE CAMPING OPTION: For the first time ever, camping will be allowed on-site Friday night before the race! For a small donation, you’ll be able to set up Friday afternoon, maybe pre-ride a trail or two, and relax. Space is limited. Locking in your camp site is part of the race registration process. First come, first served.
For the first time ever, total event participation (meaning the number of racers in both races combined) will be capped at 250 registrants. Also new for this year – only for MTB Atlanta Members – is a super-early, super cheap $45.00 (plus fees) holiday season registration! This great gift idea will only be available in December. Normal early registration opens January 1, and is $55.00 (plus fees) before midnight on May 26th, 2024. After that the cost increases to $65 (plus fees.) The last date/time to register is 11:59 pm, Wednesday, June 19th, 2024. There will be no day-of registration. To guarantee your size race tech-shirt, you must register by 11:59 pm, Sunday, June 9th, 2024. Every penny we raise from this race will be used to build and maintain the trails at Allatoona Creek Park.
Registration opens December 1, 2023: https://www.bikesignup.com/Race/Info/GA/Acworth/VoodooBikeRace
Putting on a race like this isn’t easy, and we can use all the volunteers we can get! Plenty to do on race-day of course, but we also need help with marketing, staging and registration. To volunteer, please click here. https://www.bikesignup.com/Race/Volunteer/GA/Acworth/VoodooBikeRace
