The Chattahoochee National Recreation Area and MTB Atlanta are partnering for a Bike VIP (Volunteers in Park) program to establish a volunteer presence in the Park and the shared use trails at Sope Creek. Do you enjoy helping others and riding your bike? The Park is looking for people who are CPR/First Aid certified to be “moving sign posts” for the Park and the trails. While you ride, you can record trail conditions, help others with way finding, help respond to emergency and first aid needs of other trail users and help promote good trail etiquette for all trail users.
If you want to participate in the program you will also have to be CPR/First Aid certified. If you do not have this certification, this is your class with the Park for the certification which is free.
There are only 5 spots available for this class and you must sign up here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/bike-vip-cprfirst-aid-training-with-the-crnra-tickets-57283266793
If you can’t make this class another one wil be scheduled in April.
When you accumulate 40 volunteer hours with the CRNRA, you qualify for a free yearly parking pass a $45 value. Over 200 hours, you get a Volunteer Pass to all National Parks in the US. The CRNRA also has a yearly volunteer appreciation lunch and great swag. You also get a free membership to the Chattahoochee Parks Conservancy, the Friends Group of the Park.
If you ride Sope Creek often and love the CRNRA we encourage you to join this program.
