Advocacy Alert!! The Nature Conservancy of Georgia will be hosting the last South River Forest Community Input Meeting tonight from 5-7 PM at South Atlanta High School at 800 Hutchens Road Atanta, GA 30354.
They’ll be talking about the opportunities of what a preserved, unified forest green space along the South River in Atlanta and unincorporated Dekalb County can bring to the surrounding communities and the region in the context of conservation, equity and passive outdoor recreation.
Our 8 mile trail system at Southside Park is the gateway for the greens pace and we would love it if our community would show up to support the expansion of the shared use trail system at Southside Park for passive outdoor recreation into other areas of the South River Forest like Lake Charlotte Nature Preserve and beyond.
Can’t make the meeting tonight ? Fill out the public input survey for the South River Forest at the link here today: https://www.southriverforest.org/survey
Let them know you support soft surface shared use trails for cycling, hiking, and running and that sustainable trails build community, conservation and stewardship.
