3 Ways to Celebrate National Trails Day this Saturday with MTB Atlanta this Saturday !

Join us as we celebrate the 30th Anniversary of National Trails Day this Saturday by attending one of these 3 events or just get out on one of the trails at the 27 parks in the MTB Atlanta Trail Network.

Grand Opening Group Ride and Cookout- Campbellton Creek Nature Park- Sat. June 4th 11-2

Group Ride on Brand New “Sourwood” Trail at Campbellton Creek and Cookout

Join us as we celebrate the opening of a brand new trail and brand new park with our partner and land manager , the Southeastern Trust for Parks and Land.

We will celebrate the opening of the new 2.7 mile “Sourwood Trail” at the brand new Campbellton Creek Nature Park.

We will have a “no drop” social group ride (probably a few laps) to preview the new trail and Phase One of the Park and then have a cookout after.

This is an intermediate group ride on an Intermedaite rated trail. Please bring a mountain bike, a pack with tools anda spare tube, water, snacks and wear a helmet.

The parking lot for the park is about a quarter mile form the intersection of Plummer Road and Riverside on the left hand side.

Overflow parking will be at the Sandtown Road Publix at 5829 Campbellton Rd SW Ste 110. Atlanta, GA 30331which is an easy and quick bike ride to the parking lot and trail head.

We will be grilling burgers and hot dogs after so bring your appetiite. If you are vegeterian, we will be grilling veggie dogs and burgers.

Choose a ticket on Eventbrite if you are eating meat or if you are a vegeterian.

Sustainable Trails Workshop presented by Recreate Smyrna and MTB Atlanta at North Cooper Lake Bike Park.

Love trails and want to know best practices on how to maintain them as a volunteer? Join us with Recreate Smyrna for our Sustainable Trails Workshop.

Covering best practices for building, maintaining, and improving recreational trails for non-motorized use. The goal is to sustainability that can reduce overall maintenance needs and user impacts.

One hour presentation, followed by hands on maintenance exercises.

Schedule 9:00-10:00 – Building Sustainable Trails presentation. 10:00-1:00 Maintenance Exercises

Participants must be 18 years of age and up.

Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day at Mount Tabor

Join us for our annual “Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day” at Mount Tabor Park with Paulding County Parks and Recreation.

Join the Paulding County Composite MTB team and SORBA as we teach children ages 3-16 years old proper bike safety and maintenance.

Each child must register, bring their own bike or tricycle, helmet, and a water bottle. There will be an obstacle course challenge and short trail ride at the end of the program. This event is FREE!!!!
